The cult sci-fi comedy has also found a new streaming home, bidding Netflix goodbye.
Rick and Morty season 8 is imminent! In news just to hand (ie it hit my inbox minutes ago) the sci-fi comedy is returning to our screens and streams on Monday, May 26. And it seems the series has hopped services as well as dimensions. Season 8 will be exclusive to Max, newly launched in the Australian market. Sucks to be Netflix, I guess, although now the world’s most annoying fandom is someone else’s problem. It’s an ill wind and so forth.
We do get a brief synopsis but, if you know the series, what we get is gonna be a lot stranger than this handful of words suggests:
Rick and Morty is back for Season Eight! Life has meaning again! Anything is possible! Look out for adventures with Summer, Jerry, Beth, and the other Beth. Maybe Butter Bot will get a new task? Whatever happens, you can’t keep Rick and Morty down for long. People have tried!
Uninformative, but definitely on brand. The trailer sheds a bit more light:
…but not much.
Rick and Morty stars Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden, who took over from disgraced co-creator Justin Roiland; Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell and Spencer Grammer, and is Executive Produced by Dan Harmon and Scott Marder, who also serves as showrunner.
