Brisbane alternative rock outfit Sunbleached have officially announced their long awaited debut album, Stop Destroying The Things You Love, arriving on September 18th via Community Music.
To mark the announcement, Sunbleached have unveiled the brooding new single ‘Pain Chamber’, offering another taste of what promises to be an emotionally charged first full length release.
Produced by Fletcher Matthews (Trophy Eyes, Dear Seattle, Secret World), the album captures the band’s signature blend of soaring alternative rock, emo and melodic intensity. ‘Pain Chamber’ highlights that balance from the outset, pairing driving guitars with expansive hooks before building into one of the band’s most dynamic releases to date.
Lyrically, the track explores the emotional cost of losing your own identity in the pursuit of someone else’s approval:
“‘Pain Chamber’ is about giving yourself to another person to your own detriment,” guitarist Bradley Maddaford explained. “Being stuck in a vicious cycle of just wanting to be whatever the other person wants you to be, to the point where you relinquish all control to them.”

Slow Burn
The single follows June’s ‘Slow Burn’, which quickly became the band’s most streamed release to date, together with earlier tracks ‘Rip’ and ‘Stain’, the songs showcase the creative evolution that has led to Stop Destroying The Things You Love.
Since forming in Brisbane in 2020, Sunbleached have steadily become one of Australia’s most exciting emerging alternative acts. Featuring Josh Baker, Bradley Maddaford, Kaden Perkinson, Brent Ottley and Izaac Calrow, the band has built a loyal following through emotionally driven songwriting and an energetic live presence.
Their rise has included appearances at BIGSOUND and New Bloom Festival, while sharing stages with Citizen, Movements, Holding Absence, Fleshwater, Touché Amoré, Boston Manor and Highly Suspect. Along the way, they’ve continued earning recognition across Australia’s alternative music community and beyond.
The album announcement comes as Sunbleached prepare to support Inertia in Brisbane this weekend, giving local fans another opportunity to hear the band’s latest material live ahead of the album’s release.
