The Last Bullet trailer promises an explosive climax to the French action trilogy

Action maverick Guillaume Pierret’s high speed saga looks like it’s gonna go out with a bang.

If you know your way around the search function you can find some absolutely blistering international action movies on Netflix. And in action fan circles, few are as lauded as the Lost Bullet flicks by Guillaume Pierret. Now, the series is (presumably) coming to the finish line, with the trailer for Last Bullet dropping. Really, what else could the call it?

Released in 2020, Lost Bullet stars Alban Lenoir as Lino, a getaway driver and crack mechanic paroled to rebuild cop cars into absolute speed machines in order for the gendarmes to outrace drug dealers. After fellow officer Areski (Nicolas Duvauchelle) murders his police patron, Charas (Ramzy Bedia) Lino dedicates himself to bringing the corrupt cop to justice. Happily for us, this involves some of the most impressive vehicular combat this side of a Mad Max movie.

Lost Bullet 2, released in 2022, picks up the action six months later, with Lino still on the trail of the renegade Areski, helped by hot cop and on-again-off-again love interest, Julia (Stéfi Celma – Call My Agent!) and hindered by yet another corrupt cop, Resz (Gérard Lanvin). Now, at long last, we’re getting the grand finale.

As the synopsis helpfully tells us, “In the final installment of the Lost Bullet trilogy, Lino, freshly released from prison, is determined to seek justice for Charas. Alongside Julia, he embarks on a pursuit of Areski, who has returned to France and is being hunted by Commander Resz and his men. A breathtaking chase ensues, marked by fragile alliances and intense confrontations. In this new chapter, old enemies must unite against a common adversary to survive and uncover the truth.”

Hell yes. Last Bullet hits Netflix like a runaway Renault on May 7.
