TikTok is pushing deeper into the music world with ‘TikTok in the Mix’, a new live podcast series built around candid conversations with some of the biggest artists on the platform.
The four episode run kicks off tomorrow December 12 at 1pm AEDT (converted from December 11, 6pm PT) and features none other than Demi Lovato as the debut guest.
Hosted by Jack Coyne of Trackstar, each episode dives into the creative process, cultural influence and the viral spark that makes TikTok such a massive driver of music discovery.
Rather than a polished PR lap, the series promises unfiltered talk, the kind of behind the scenes honesty fans usually only get through late night livestreams or accidental leaks.
Booth of Truth
Episode one sees Lovato opening up about recording Not That Deep, stepping into the so called “Booth of Truth” to dissect her lyrics, and even addressing a rumoured collaboration with Zara Larsson.
Jack Coyne says the format hits at the heart of what TikTok does best:
“TikTok is one of the most important platforms in the world for music today. Sitting down with some of the biggest artists, hearing how they think and create—it’s pretty special. ‘TikTok in the Mix’ lets fans get closer to the artists they love, and I’m thrilled to help bring those conversations to life.”
TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development, Tracy Gardner, echoed that sentiment:
“TikTok is the home of music discovery—a place where artists and fans meet, creating music culture and driving chart-topping hits all over the world… giving artists space to share their journeys and giving fans a deeper look at the moments that shape music culture.”
Each instalment runs for thirty minutes and streams live on TikTok, with Lovato kicking things off, the platform is clearly aiming for a hybrid of podcast intimacy and livestream immediacy, a blend designed to hook both casual scrollers and diehard music nerds alike.
