The first trailer for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere has landed, with Jeremy Allen White starring as Bruce Springsteen in a film about the making of Nebraska.

The first trailer for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere has officially landed, giving fans their first look at Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen during one of the most defining periods of his career.

Directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy HeartBlack Mass) and based on the book Deliver Me From Nowhere by Warren Zanes, the biopic chronicles the intense and deeply personal creation of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska – a sparse, haunting acoustic record that he famously recorded solo on a 4-track recorder in his New Jersey bedroom.

Starring Jeremy Allen White (The BearThe Iron Claw) as Springsteen, the film also features Jeremy Strong (Succession) as longtime manager Jon Landau, Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father Doug, and Paul Walter Hauser as engineer Mike Batlan.

The trailer sets the tone with Landau narrating: “Once he repairs himself with Nebraska, he’s going to repair the entire world.”

According to the official synopsis, the film follows Springsteen “on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past.” It explores how Nebraska marked a pivotal turning point for the artist and helped define a new era in his songwriting.

Springsteen himself has backed the film and praised White’s portrayal. Speaking to Howard Stern, he said, “He’s got an interpretation of me that I think the fans will deeply recognise. He sings well. He sings very well.”

White and Strong spent time with Springsteen and Landau during production. Strong says the two “really opened the kimono,” for them in an interview with Deadline. “Bruce and Jon will feed me stories, anecdotes, memories, thoughts, feelings that have all made their way into the film.”

Described by Strong as “a love story in a sense between these two men,” the relationship between Springsteen and Landau plays a central role. “Jon offered a steady hand that helped Bruce over the years,” he said.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is scheduled for release on October 24.
