Sienna Skies’ Elated Music Festival hits the Lansdowne in Sydney this August with City Escape, Harroway, Elara and more.
Off the back of touring their latest EP Only Change Is Permanent, Sienna Skies is returning to the stage – and they’re bringing a full-blown party (AKA Elated Music Festival) with them.
The long-running Sydney post-hardcore outfit have officially launched their very own event, Elated Music Festival, taking over the Lansdowne Hotel for a huge night of live music, community and chaos.
Created by the band alongside Passion Eight Records, Last Words and Good Intent, the festival arrives as a celebration of Sienna Skies’ new single ‘Elated’, and the return of a band that’s spent the last year on the road behind their EP.
In a statement announcing the event earlier this month, Elated Music Festival was described as “a concept created by the band, to give back and create an intimate festival atmosphere for the local music scene. Where music lovers alike can come together and enjoy good vibes and great bands.”
Joining them for the inaugural edition are Melbourne post-hardcore heavyweights City Escape, reuniting for a rare set to mark the 15-year anniversary of their landmark EP Avalanches. Also on deck are rising metalcore force Harroway, whose brutal 2023 EP I Don’t Want To Be Here Anymore has seen them tour with the likes of Make Them Suffer and Ocean Sleeper.
The lineup leans heavily into local talent, with sets from Wollongong crew Alienist, Canberra’s St Sinner, and Sydney acts Aurateque, Elara and Wicked Envy rounding out the bill.
And the party doesn’t stop when the bands are done. Once the last set wraps, Last Words DJs will take over to spin a full-blast emo and alternative afterparty, promising “a night of chaos, catharsis, and nostalgia.” Expect everything from My Chemical Romance and Paramore to Slipknot, Limp Bizkit and Bullet For My Valentine – plus a fully decked-out venue complete with pool tables, arcade games and yes, even a sex toy claw machine.
Emergence Music Festival isn’t the only local alternative community event cropping up around Australia at the moment – just this week, Converge Festival was announced, with events in Melbourne and Brisbane set for September. The local scenes around the country are well and truly thriving if these two fests are anything to go by.
Elated Music Festival will be live and loud at the Lansdowne on August 30, with tickets on sale now.
