Quicksand Announce 2027 Australian Tour With Whores.

Three consecutive club shows will bring the New York post-hardcore veterans back with Bring On The Psychics, an album Sergio Vega told BLUNT was made with the live set in mind.

Quicksand will return to Australia in February 2027 with Whores. supporting three consecutive shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, as reported by HEAVY Magazine.

Promoter Waxstar Touring has confirmed Quicksand kick off their Australian and New Zealand tour at Sydney’s Crowbar on Thursday 11 February. From there, they head to Brisbane’s Crowbar the following night and wrap up the Australian dates at Melbourne’s Leadbeater Hotel on Saturday 13 February.

This return brings a new record into the picture. Waxstar’s 2023 tour celebrated the 30th anniversary of Slip. The upcoming dates follow Bring On The Psychics, adding another chapter to a catalogue that includes Slip and Manic Compression.

Equal Vision Records released Bring On The Psychics on 17 July 2026, marking Quicksand’s first album in five years and their debut for the label. Jon Markson, whose credits include Drug Church and Drain, produced and mixed the record across 10 days.

When BLUNT spoke with bassist Sergio Vega in July, he explained that the band wanted songs they could take straight to the stage.

“We wanted a record that we could really add most, if not all of it, to our live set,” Vega told BLUNT.

Atlanta noise-rock trio Whores. also return with material released since their previous visit. Waxstar describes the upcoming run as their first visit Down Under since their 2022 Australasian tour.

Their album WAR. arrived on 16 April 2024, according to the band’s own Bandcamp page. Ryan Boesch, whose credits include Helmet, Melvins and Fu Manchu, recorded, mixed and mastered the album at Candor Recording.

The Australian shows form part of a five-date Australasian run. Waxstar’s current announcement also lists Auckland’s Double Whammy on Friday 19 February and Wellington’s San Fran on Saturday 20 February, with Whores. supporting all five shows.
