Fit For A King have dropped intense single ‘Begin The Sacrifice’ with a gripping music video ahead of their new album, Lonely God.
Metalcore heavyweights Fit For A King have unleashed their latest single ‘Begin The Sacrifice’, alongside a striking new music video that dives deep into themes of distraction and devotion. The single is taken from the band’s upcoming eighth album Lonely God, which arrives August 1 via Solid State Records.
The song’s powerful subject matter sees frontman Ryan Kirby exploring modern struggles of belief and focus. “Thematically, you can think of it as a person who’s ready to begin the sacrifice of himself for a greater cause, but there are a million things asking for his attention,” Kirby shared.
“It’s not necessarily religion. People are arguing about everything these days. So, it’s easy to end up believing in nothing because you feel overwhelmed.”
The video for ‘Begin The Sacrifice’ amplifies that intensity, adding a visceral visual layer to the band’s signature blend of crushing riffs and soaring choruses. Directed with a keen sense for atmosphere, it captures the chaos and conflict Kirby describes, showcasing Fit For A King’s ability to fuse brutal heaviness with emotional depth.

Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Daniel Braunstein (Spiritbox), Lonely God is set to showcase the band’s evolution across a decade-plus career. Fit For A King – Kirby, Bobby Lynge, Daniel Gailey, Trey Celaya, and Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary – have built a reputation for tackling heavy themes with equally heavy music, a reputation only reinforced by the arrival of ‘Begin The Sacrifice’.
While Fit For a King announced their Australian return supporting The Plot In You in January 2026 earlier this year, it’s ‘Begin The Sacrifice’ that’s front and centre right now, giving fans a fresh taste of what’s to come. Tickets for the Australian shows are moving fast, with Melbourne sold out and low ticket warnings in place for multiple cities.
The band’s recent singles, paired with the upcoming release of Lonely God, mark an exciting new chapter for Fit For A King. And for Aussie fans – they’ll get to be a part of that ride come January.
