Queens Of The Stone Age Ask The Big Questions On New Single ‘Where The Goth Girls At?’

The rollout for Queens of the Stone Age‘s ninth album Perfecth has continued with the release of its third single, ‘Where the Goth Girls At?’

The track follows on from the release of lead single ‘Easy Street’ in July, and its follow-up ‘Insignificant Other’ in late August.

In a brief press statement, frontman Josh Homme has explained that the light-hearted song reflects on his teen years growing up in the suburbs of Palm Desert.

“Watching the goth girls working the counter at JCPenney and giving goth makeovers to the old ladies, that’s when I knew the only place I want to be is where the goth girls at,” wrote Homme. “Teenage love, ain’t it grand?”

An accompanying music video for the new single has also been released, made by Christopher Gruse and Tony Wolski in collaboration with the production company Hungry Man. It can be viewed below:

Perfecth is slated for release on Friday, October 30th via Matador Records. It was co-produced by Homme with the band’s longtime bassist Michael Schuman (AKA Mikey Shoes).

This marks the first time the pair have produced a Queens of the Stone Age album as a duo, with the entire band having collectively produced In Times New Roman… as well as 2013’s …Like Clockwork.

“Every song sounds like it’s from a different world,” Homme said in a statement regarding the new album at the time of its announcement.

“That’s on purpose, because it’s trying to stitch together all these emotions revolving around love, lust, foolishness, and the sort of wisdom that comes as a gift from all that.”

Following the release of Perfecth, QOTSA will head to Australia for a run of arena shows this December.

They will be joined by Primus as the tour’s main support, with Melbourne’s Tropical Fuck Storm serving as the opener. It marks QOTSA’s first tour of Australia in almost three years, as well as Primus’ first Australian shows in over eight.
