Pete Davidson Learns To Fear The Reaper in The Home Trailer

Share

Bedpans and broken dentures are far from the worst things ol’ Pete faces in this nursing home horror story.

The Home sees perpetually sticky-looking SNL veteran Pete Davidson get a gig in an aged care facility. Unfortunately for him, dark doings are afoot…

The Home Trailer

What’s the plot?

Not much to say at this point. As the official synopsis helpfully tells us:

Max, a troubled man, starts working at a retirement home and realizes its residents and caretakers harbor sinister secrets. As he investigates the building and its forbidden fourth floor, he starts to uncover connections to his own past and upbringing as a foster child.

So, something’s rotten in the Retirement Castle.

What we do know, however, is that this one is directed (and co-written with Adam Cantor) by James DeMonaco, creator of The Purge. That’s certainly piqued our interest. Funny thing: like Pete, DeMonaco hails from Staten Island. Guess they had something to talk about on set.

Who’s in it?

Pete Davidson is Max, with Jagger Nelson as the young Max John Glover, Bruce Altman, Ethan Phillips, Matthew Miniero, Linder Sutton, Nathalie Schmidt, and Marilee Talkington head up the supporting cast. Gonna go out on a limb here and guess that Glover’s playing a bad guy.

When’s it out?

The Home hits cinemas on July 25.

What’s the vibe?

Growing old is one of those primal fears we really don’t like to think about. That’s why we warehouse are elderly out of sight, so they can’t remind us of the grim spectre of death. Which is to say, there’s plenty of grist for the horror mill in this scenario, so we’ll be checking this one out sharpish.
