Developer Team Cherry has announced they’ll be hosting a “special announcement” stream for Hollow Knight: Silksong this Friday.

Well folks, we finally made it. Hollow Knight: Silksong is confirmed to be releasing later this year and we’re set to get our first official look at the game this Friday.

Developers Team Cherry have been busy showing off their game over in Cologne, Germany at Gamescom 2025. Last night, gamers erupted into a frenzy in the events livestream chat as Silksong gameplay was shown during the event’s opening showcase.

Presenter Geoff Keighley made sure to get the announcement out of the way early on in the night, making sure fans weren’t kept hanging throughout the entire showcase.

Now, following the opening night, developers Team Cherry themselves will be hosting a “special announcement” on their Youtube channel.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is expected to release later this year. While no date has been confirmed, it is expected to launch in the coming months.

At Gamescom this week, attendees have had the chance to play a demo of the game on PC or Xbox’s upcoming handheld console, the Xbox ROG Ally X. The handheld console is also slated to launch later this year.

Xbox’s very own Sarah Bond has also mentioned the game will be available to play on the handheld console at launch.

Additionally, Australia itself will also get the opportunity to play the game in September at Melbourne’s very own ACMI as part of its Game Worlds exhibition.

Hollow Knight: Silksong was announced six years ago during the 2019 Nintendo Direct. Since then, gamers have been eager to finally get their hands on the game, hyping every gaming showcase as “the one” that would eventually confirm the game’s release. And now, gamers can rest easy knowing it’s finally going to happen sooner, rather than later.
