WAAX tore through Howler in Brunswick Thursday night with a ferocious headline set that had the packed room screaming every word back. The Brisbane rockers delivered a blistering mix of raw energy and emotion, cementing their place as one of Australia’s most electrifying live acts.
The Howler in Brunswick was hit with a wave of explosive energy as WAAX took the stage. Celebrating their first release of new music in three years, the Brisbane rockers put on a home-run show that was equal parts raw, loud and intimate.
Joining WAAX were local Melbourne bands Cheap-Skate and Sick Visor, along with Brisbane’s Worm Girlz, who all set the scene for a femme-driven night of chaos. By the time WAAX took the stage, the crowd was all but roaring to go.
WAAX’s UR A Rat tour was all about the band wanting to reconnect with the audience, putting on more intimate shows, which had a stronger connection to female energy.
As the final song played, everyone in the Howler roared as one, matching frontwoman Maz De Vita’s primal energy. WAAX prove yet again why they’re one of Australia’s most electrifying acts to catch live, and one that makes all of its audience feel seen, welcome and that they belong.
