Sydney’s own Polaris are taking things into their own hands this summer, curating their first ever festival: Life’s A Beach.
Polaris has announced their own music festival, Life’s a Beach, set to take place in February. The one day event hits Riviera Beach Club in St Kilda on Saturday, February 14th, bringing heavy music to an unlikely seaside setting.
The line-up is stacked with both local and international talent: We Came As Romans (USA), Thy Art Is Murder, Ocean Sleeper, Caskets (UK), Terminal Sleep, Reliqa and Headwreck will all join Polaris for a day of breakdowns in the sand.

For Polaris, Life’s A Beach marks the final celebration of their chart topping 2023 album Fatalism before they dive into a new chapter. Drummer Daniel Furnari explained the concept: “Putting together an outdoor fest that we can call our own has been a little pipe dream of ours for a while now. We’ve hand picked a killer mix of old friends from abroad and at home, some familiar favourites and some of the best up and coming local talent. We can’t wait to have a mosh as the sun goes down, and most likely throw ourselves into the waves as soon as we walk off stage!”

Polaris have gone from sweaty club shows to festival main stages alongside Bring Me The Horizon, Slipknot and Parkway Drive. With Fatalism, they hit Number 1 on the ARIA charts, picked up nominations at the J Awards and the Australian Music Prize, and cemented themselves as one of Australia’s biggest heavy exports.
Life’s A Beach looks like a lot of fun, an event that fuses Melbourne’s summer party culture with heavy music’s raw power. Get ready for riffs, pits, and most likely a few bodies in the surf by the end of the night.
