Combichrist delivered a crushing set at Sydney’s Crowbar on Saturday, blowing the roof off the venue in a blitzing show filled with the group’s greatest hits.
Atlanta-based industrial metal group Combichrist took over the Crowbar in Sydney on Saturday with a high-intensity set, and the crowd were more than ready to return the energy.
Joined by Witchgrinder and Our Last Enemy, the crowd were already geared and primed for Combichrist to take the stage and blow the roof off the Crowbar. With a career spanning setlist, Combichrist were ready to give fans of every era a treat.
Starting off the show with the synth-heavy ‘All Pain Is Gone’, followed by ‘Throat Full of Glass’, fans were already beaming.
Since 2010, the band have spent years perfecting their blend special blend of industrial metal music, and Saturday night proved that the band have always had that special sauce.
Combichrist would return to the stage to play their newest track, ‘Desolation’, a slower, more looming track that builds to an explosive, alarm-like synth breakdown. By the time that first breakdown came down, everyone was equal parts dancing and curling the stankest of faces. The band would close the night on arguably their most celebrated track, ‘Never Surrender’. The moment everyone heard those starting notes, the crowd erupted into a frenzy, shaking the venue as they danced to the rhythm of the track.
