Bad Omens Tease New Single, ‘Dying To Love’, Set To Release Tomorrow

Bad Omens have released a teaser for their new single, ‘Dying To Love’, confirming the track will be released later this week. This marks their third single drop this year with no album announcement.

Metalcore group Bad Omens seem primed to drop yet another track this year.

The band revealed on their social media that they’ll be dropping their new single, titled ‘Dying To Love’, tomorrow (October 22).

This would mark the band’s third single this year, following their previous releases ‘Spectre‘ in August, and ‘Impose’ in September.

Not much is revealed by the teaser. From what we can see in the quick video, a group of men appear to be in some dark hole, one man stands out and screams at the sky and that’s all we know. The post also comes with the caption, “Heaven isn’t quite what it seems.”

It’s unclear whether this is a continuation of Bad Omens trend of music videos showing the impact a toxic relationship can have on someone, but it does seem most likely.

Bad Omens also shared their track ā€˜Imposeā€˜ last month, along with a music video co-directed by frontman Noah Sebastion. In a statement, the band would describe the song as a disorienting romantic all-nighter after a chance encounter at a nightclub,ā€ with its central characters being ā€œa woman stuck in a cycle of fast livingā€ and a ā€œman merely a bystander to her unravellingā€.

The video would end with the lead actress smoking a cigarette on a staircase, monologuing in what sounds like Slovenian. Per fan translations in the comments, it begins: ā€œWhen I fall asleep, I run away, but without you. You’re still in dreams, but not mine.ā€

As of writing, Bad Omens have yet to announce a new record, which makes the release of a third single very interesting. Whether these tracks will find their way onto an eventual fourth LP from the Virginia metal group or remain standalone is unclear. In the July 3rd episode of State the Scene’s podcast, which featured Sebastian, the singer shared that the album was not yet finished, and still needed more time.

Recently, Sebastian shared with radio station 93X that he may even have enough material for two albums:

“I’m kind of toying with this idea of, ā€˜Maybe I’m gonna make more than one record, or just one really large record that tells more of a story about why the record sounds the way it does.’ I don’t know, I’m still playing with it, and I’m still trying to not get stressed out about it, and just enjoy the process of writing and playing shows, and putting out songs that we want to play live.ā€
