John Carpenter has announced that he’ll be livestreaming his Halloween concert for all, confirming that he’ll be performing some of his most iconic film scores along with other solo material.
John Carpenter has announced a very special concert for Halloween this year, which the legendary director plans to livestream, allowing fans all around the world to attend.
The Escape From New York director has been deep into his Halloween residency in Las Vegas, and will be performing next at The Belasco on October 31st. Lucky for those who can’t make it in, Carpenter will be livestreaming the entire concert via Veeps. Tickets to watch are now available here.
The concert will start at 11 PM ET (2pm AEDT), making for a very rare show where we Aussies won’t need to be up at the crack of dawn to attend. How good!
For those out of the loop, Carpenter has had a celebrated second life as a musician outside of directing films. Even during his most popular run of films, Carpenter would still play a part in arranging music for them, earning composer credits on Halloween, Escape From New York, Big Trouble In Little China and more. He would also co-compose the opening credits to Foo Fighters’ horror flick Studio 666, which also featured Carpenter in a rare acting role.
Carpenter has recently gone viral for sharing his thoughts on The Substance, which took inspiration from the legendary horror director’s films. “What did I like about the Substance? Zero,” the director would reveal during a rare Q&A.
Whether the director is playing coy and is continuing his legacy of stirring the pot for fun, or genuinely dislikes the film, is unknown at this point. But you can absolutely expect the Halloween director to get asked to share more about his apparent feud with the Demi Moore film.
