New ads from Sepultura have been spotted on social media for an Australian leg of the band’s Celebrating Life Through Death… The Farewell tour in 2026.
Metal giants Sepultura seem to be on the verge of announcing an Australian tour as part of their final run together as a band.
The Sepultura ads were first spotted by Rock ‘n’ Metal Music News Australia, who would share the link to a pre-sale sign-up site from Destroy All Lines. The website would feature the upcoming tour name, Celebrating Life Through Death… and official band art.
As of writing, there has been no official announcement from either Destroy All Lines or Sepultura just yet, but if you weren’t expecting the band to visit during their big send off tour, it might be time to start huffing that hopeium.
Another hint that a tour is coming soon is that Sepultura’s first half of 2026 is looking fairly scarce, with the band’s first concert landing on May 7, 2026 for Welcome To Rockville festival at Daytona Beach, Florida. Sepultura are then expected to embark on a European tour in June, leaving room for the first half of the year for a potential Australian tour.
Sepultura announced their farewell tour in 2023, celebrating 40 years together as a band.
On their website, Sepultura would write
“Sepultura has reached the end of the road and has chosen to depart via a conscious and planned death.”
“Throughout the next 18 months, we will celebrate 40 years of existence together, along with our loyal fans on a farewell tour across the entire globe.”
“It will be a celebration of the past and the present for one final time.”
The metal band would also reveal they intend to record 40 live tracks in 40 different cities and plan to release a compilation of “our best, most energetic moments on stage.”
Three months before the band would embark on their farewell tour, drummer Eloy Casagrande would quit the band to join Slipknot. Brazilian drummer Greyson Nekrutman would join the band as their touring drummer to replace Casagrande.
Nekrutman would also fill in for Trivium following Alex Bent’s surprise departure back in August, following Sepultura’s final performance of the year. Nekrutman’s duties in Trivium would wrap up in October, with Alex Rüdinger stepping in as touring drummer.
With ads popping up already, it’s likely an official announcement could happen early tomorrow morning or later on in the week, so be sure to follow Blunt for updates when or if it’s officially announced.
