Sharon Osbourne has opened up about the last moments she shared with her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, in her first interview since the Black Sabbath singer’s passing in July.

Sharon Osbourne has opened up about the final words her husband Ozzy Osbourne said to her in their first interview since the Black Sabbath singer’s passing.

Ozzy, aged 76, would pass away from cardiac arrest in July last year, only two weeks following his final performance at the massive Back To The Beginning concert.

Sharon would share her story in an interview on Piers Morgan’s show Uncensored, telling the host Ozzy’s final words to her were.

As the long-time manager would go on to explain, Ozzy had been up and down during the night he died. At one point, he woke her. “I said, I’m already bloody awake, you’ve woken me up,” she recalled. “And he said, ‘Kiss me.’ And then he said, ‘Hug me tight’.

Following the interaction, Ozzy would go downstairs to work out in their home in Buckinghamshire. 20 minutes later, the singer would be dead.

Sharon said she screamed after finding Ozzy’s body in the gym at their house. “He had a heart attack,” she told Morgan. “I ran downstairs, and there he was, and they were trying to resuscitate him, and I’m like, ‘Don’t – just leave him. Leave him. You can’t. He’s gone.”

She continued: “I knew instantly he’d gone. And they tried and tried, and then they took him by helicopter to the hospital, and they tried, and it’s like, ‘He’s gone. Just leave him.'”

During her interview with Morgan, Sharon would also reveal that Ozzy had been told by his doctor that his final performance would kill him.

“He didn’t want to die on stage, he didn’t,” she said. “But he did it his way.”

Sharon would also describe Ozzy’s funeral procession through the streets of Birmingham, where fans from around the world gathered to celebrate the late Prince of Darkness’ life.

“It was like a dream”, said Sharon, describing how she felt like she was “looking down at it all”.

“My kids could see and feel how much their father was loved… it was overwhelmingly warm, going back to your hometown where you’re really loved.”

Sharon and Ozzy’s three children, daughters Aimee and Kelly, and son Jack would all attend Osbourne’s funeral procession, which stopped by the famous Black Sabbath Bench, which had been decorated with photos and gifts for the late singer.

“Grief has now become my friend,” Sharon would say, describing the loss.
