Metallica have shared live footage of ‘The Day That Never Comes’ from their first-ever concert in Bahrain earlier this month.
Metallica have released a pro-filmed live video of ‘The Day That Never Comes’, captured during the band’s first-ever performance in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The show took place on December 3 at the Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre in Sakhir and marked a notable moment both for the band and for metal music in the region.
The performance was part of Metallica’s ongoing M72 world tour which wrapped up its Australian leg last month, and represented the band’s debut appearance in Bahrain. While heavy metal has historically faced resistance in parts of the Middle East due to cultural and political restrictions, Bahrain has increasingly positioned itself as a destination for large-scale international concerts. Metallica’s appearance there reflects a broader shift in attitudes toward metal music in select countries across the region.
To commemorate the occasion, the band shared footage of ‘The Day That Never Comes’, a track originally released on their 2008 album Death Magnetic. The clip gives fans a clear look at the sheer scale of the show (perhaps not a shock for those who caught them live in Australia recently) and the atmosphere inside the venue, which was packed for the historic night.

The Bahrain concert featured a setlist spanning Metallica’s career, balancing older staples with newer material. Songs performed included ‘Creeping Death’, ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls’, ‘Fuel’, ‘King Nothing’, ‘The Unforgiven’, ‘Wherever I May Roam’, ‘Moth Into Flame’, ‘Sad but True’, ‘Nothing Else Matters’, ‘Seek & Destroy’, ‘Lux Æterna’, ‘Master of Puppets’, ‘One’, and ‘Enter Sandman’. As has become customary on recent tours, the show also included a lighthearted Kirk and Rob Doodle segment before launching into the second half of the set.
Following their recent run of shows, Metallica appear to be stepping back from touring for a brief period. The band is currently scheduled to return to the road in Europe next year, with shows planned from May through July.
