Jack White Calls Out ‘Embarrassing’ Congressman Over AI Generated Video

Share

Jack White has gone scorched earth on Tennessee congressman Tim Burchett after Burchett shared an AI generated video of the musician on social media, falsely putting words in his mouth and taking a cheap shot while he was at it.

The manipulated clip featured a fake version of White, styled to resemble his appearance at his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction earlier this year, delivering the fabricated line:

“Don’t even think about listening to my music, you fascist.”

Burchett doubled down in the caption, adding:

“That cute little girl from the Addams Family got really ugly and angry.”

The post leaned into a long running false narrative that White “forbids” Donald Trump supporters from attending his shows, something the Detroit rocker has publicly denied on multiple occasions.

White didn’t let it slide

Taking to Instagram, he unloaded on Burchett, calling out both the misinformation and the broader implications of an elected official amplifying AI generated falsehoods.

“Can you believe that a U.S. congressman, that’s right, a CONGRESSMAN (from my state no less), a once hallowed and respected position in our society, would repost an AI generated video, containing a false comment that I never said and refuted (without researching that I might add) and like a 10 year old on a playground, add to it attempted insults to my physical appearance?” the rocker wrote. “What kind of joke are we all living in now?”

White didn’t stop there, turning his attention to what he sees as Burchett’s political allegiance and the wider damage being done.

“The great state of Tennessee deserves better Mr. Burchett but you and your cult are too dug in and blinded to even realize it,” White continued. “Holding a bible in one hand and a flag in the other while you stomp out our democracy day by day in the service of one man’s ego so that he can use taxpayer money to receive his fake peace prize and tear down the White House brick by brick. Embarrassing.”

White has never hidden his disdain for Donald Trump or his supporters, previously labelling the president a “grifter” and a “loser,” while also criticising Trump’s conduct, rhetoric, and use of music without artists’ consent.
