Twenty One Pilots Announce New Concert Film ‘More Than We Ever Imagined’

Share

Twenty One Pilots have never treated their live shows as background noise.

For Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, the stage is where the band’s universe truly takes flight, that world is being locked into a new concert film titled ‘More Than We Ever Imagined’, set to hit cinemas next month.

The film captures a night from Twenty One Pilot’s Clancy World Tour, shot inside Mexico City Stadium, one of the most visually overwhelming stops on the run.

It’s a fitting setting for a band that has built its reputation on immersive performance and attention to detail, where every movement feels intentional and every crowd interaction is part of a larger story.

Twenty One Pilots: More Than We Ever Imagined will receive a global cinema and IMAX release on February 26th, with exclusive IMAX previews beginning on the 25th, tickets officially go on sale next Thursday, January 15th and will screen for a limited time only.

The project is directed by Mark C. Eshleman, a long time creative collaborator and close friend of the band, whose connection to Twenty One Pilots stretches back to their earliest, least glamorous touring days.

“I have spent the better part of the last 16 years of my life following Twenty One Pilots around the world,” Eshleman said.

“I have seen them play clubs that were in the basements of bigger clubs for an audience made up of only the other bands on the bill… Their fingers never leave the pulse of the performance; they swear by preparation and a vision.”

Two perspectives

One perspective is focused on the fans, using more than 20 cameras positioned throughout the crowd, the other follows Joseph and Dun directly, documenting the mechanics behind a show designed to scale from basement venues to sold out stadiums without losing its emotional core.

“For ‘More Than We Ever Imagined,’ we were given the opportunity to capture two perspectives of a Twenty One Pilots performance,” he continued.

“A camera following Tyler and Josh as they take the fundamentals of their show and apply to one of the biggest stages.”
