Former Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert has reignited controversy around his 2022 departure from the band, publicly accusing his former bandmates of performative politics and unethical behaviour in a heated social media exchange.
The comments surfaced after a Turnstile Instagram story featuring a sign reading “abolish ICE” was reshared by Jesea Lee (via Metal injection), Ebert entered the comment section shortly after, taking direct aim at the band’s public stance.
“Lmao, no one in turnstile cares at all about ethics or social issues in general, they’re just pandering to their audience,” Ebert wrote.

He then escalated his criticism by alleging misconduct connected to one of the band’s early benefit shows.
“At turnstiles first free show they did they claimed all proceeds go to healthcare for the homeless, we raised 10000 dollars but i watched Brendan steal 4000 dollars from that and claim he needed to ‘pay the merch bill’ which was false.”
Turnstile split
The allegations quickly reignited discussion around Ebert’s split from Turnstile, which occurred in 2022 under tense circumstances, reports at the time circulated that drummer Daniel Fang had filed a restraining order against Ebert, though details were never fully clarified publicly.
Addressing that situation directly in a follow-up comment, Ebert pushed back strongly against what he described as misinformation surrounding the case.
“Also my friends filed a restraining order and guess what, they had two laywers with them abd I showed up to court bt myself and the judge DENIED the restraining order,” he wrote (spelling errors left in).
“Because there was no statute in the laws about what qualifies for a restraining order that they were able to meet the requirements of.”
He continued, “In other words they had no reason to file it and it was all over text messages which they showed the judge and the judge agreed with me without me even having to testify so next time before u spread bullshit misinformation say that shit to my face.”
As of publication, Turnstile and their representatives have not responded publicly to Ebert’s claims. The band have continued touring and releasing music since his departure, while Ebert has remained largely out of the public eye until now.
Given the seriousness of the allegations, the situation remains unresolved, with no independent verification currently available to substantiate or refute Ebert’s statements.
