Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Tells ICE Agents To ‘Quit That Sh*tty Job’ At Super Bowl Pre Show

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong used the band’s Super Bowl pre-show performance in San Francisco to fire off a blunt political message, urging ICE agents to walk away from their jobs ahead of the NFL’s biggest night.

Bay Area punk trio Green Day took the stage on Friday (February 6th), performing at The FanDuel Party Powered by Spotify 2026 at Pier 29, just two days out from Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium, mid-set, Armstrong addressed the crowd with a pointed message aimed directly at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (per Billboard).

“Quit your shtty ass job. Quit that shtty job you have,” Armstrong said.

“Because when this is over, and it will be over at some point of time, Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, Donald Trump — they’re gonna drop you like a bad f**king habit. Come on to this side of the line.”

The remarks appeared to be directed at ICE agents operating in the Bay Area around Super Bowl week, with immigration enforcement a renewed flashpoint under President Donald Trump’s administration.

Armstrong also leaned into Green Day’s long standing tradition of lyric changes, tweaking ‘American Idiot’ to declare, “I’m not part of a MAGA agenda,” and altering ‘Holiday’ with the line, “the representative from Epstein Island has the floor.” The change follows the release of new Department of Justice documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein.

Super Bowl LX

Green Day are also scheduled to officially kick off Super Bowl LX during the pre-game opening ceremony, performing what the NFL has described as “their most iconic rock anthems” as part of a celebration of MVPs and 60 years of Super Bowl history.

This latest moment fits squarely into Green Day’s decade long opposition to Trump, the band famously led chants of “No Trump, no KKK, no fascist U.S.A.” at the 2016 American Music Awards, and Armstrong has continued altering lyrics on tour to reflect his views.

At a January 17 show in Los Angeles, Armstrong again took aim at Trump’s immigration policies, voicing support for communities affected by ICE raids and reminding the crowd, “This song is anti-fascist. This song is anti-war.” (per Billboard).

Trump has since criticised both Green Day and Bad Bunny, who is set to perform at halftime, calling the bookings “a terrible choice.”
