Knocked Loose Enlist Denzel Curry On Brutal New Single ‘Hive Mind’

Share

Knocked Loose have dropped a new single, ‘Hive Mind’, and they’ve pulled Denzel Curry into the pit with them.

The track marks Knocked Loose’s first new release since their 2024 album You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To and it’s a collision that feels right, not gimmicky.

‘Hive Mind’ is raw, claustrophobic, and built to cave your chest in, Curry doesn’t soften the edges or feel pasted on, he matches the band’s intensity bar for bar, bringing his hardcore rooted aggression into Knocked Loose’s suffocating sonic world.

This doesn’t feel like metal flirting with hip-hop for clicks, more like two scenes overlapping because they genuinely share DNA.

Vocalist Bryan Garris says the collaboration has been on the table for years (per press release):

“This is something we’ve talked about doing for a long time. We wondered if we could pull it off and who would be down. In the very beginning, we said for it to work, it would have to be Denzel Curry. Because he gets it.”

Curry’s respect for heavy music is well documented, particularly after his explosive cover of Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Bulls On Parade’ on triple j’s Like A Version back in 2019, ‘Hive Mind’ feels like the natural next step, not a crossover experiment.

The accompanying music video was directed by Eric Richter alongside Garris himself and filmed in Knocked Loose’s hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, shot at the iconic David Armstrong Extreme Park, the clip mirrors the track’s hostility all concrete, sweat, and collective pressure.

‘Hive Mind’ follows a massive year for the band, You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To earned widespread critical praise and included the Grammy-nominated ‘Suffocate’ featuring Poppy, capped off by a culture shifting performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Live, Knocked Loose aren’t slowing down either, the band will appear at Sick New World in Las Vegas this April, support Metallica across multiple European stadium dates this summer, and return to the festival in Dallas this October.

Lets hope Australia is back on the cards soon after the disappointment of them not making last years Good Things festival due to a family emergency.
