Ozzy Osbourne will be immortalised as a six metre tall statue at one of Europe’s biggest metal festivals.
Tributes and memorials to heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne continue to flow in since the Black Sabbath frontman’s tragic death on 22 July 2025 at the age of 76, but this might be the biggest.
As per Consequence Of Sound, a massive statue of the late singer will be unveiled at this year’s edition of Hellfest, France’s annual metal festival. Standing at six metres, or a little under 20 feet, the statue will stand near the entrance to the Hellfest site in Clisson, France.
Ozzy’s widow, Sharon Osbourne, announced the statue while appearing at the music industry conference MIDEM 2026 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes on February 6.
“Oh, there he is,” Sharon said. “Look at him, a rock god. That is going to debut at Hellfest, and that is June 18th. And the whole family will be there to see it. And it’s such a great tribute. It’s amazing. So, I can only thank [Hellfest director] Ben [Barbaud]. Just bless you. It’s an amazing piece of art.”

This isn’t the first time that Hellfest have erected a statue of a late legend. In 2022 they installed one of Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister which actually incorporated a portion of Lemmy’s ashes. The metal statue replaced an earlier plaster one that was falling apart due to exposure to the elements.
Hellfest 2026 runs from June 18 to 21. Headliners this year include Bring Me The Horizon, Iron Maiden, Limp Bizkit, and The Offspring, plus Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, The Pretty Reckless, Mastodon, The Adicts, and many more – 183 acts in total. Hit up the official site for more info.
