Australia’s alternative crowd has never needed much convincing that Jack White isn’t here to play nice, and his latest swipe at Donald Trump proves it again.
White Stripes icon Jack White has taken aim at both the president and the evangelical Christians still backing him, following a bizarre AI generated image that painted Trump as a Christ-like figure (per Loudwire).
Jack White slams Trump ‘Jesus’ post
White didn’t hold back, jumping onto Instagram, he shared the now deleted image alongside another showing Trump dressed in papal attire, then unloaded on the contradiction he sees in Trump’s religious support base.
“Hey evangelical Christians? Remember that anti-Christ you been squawking about all these years and how he’d present himself as Christlike and bring about the end of days with a final war in the Middle East involving Jerusalem? Well…check out your boy now!,” White wrote.
It’s not just the imagery that set him off. White dug deeper, questioning how Trump’s supporters reconcile their faith with his track record.
“Listen, if the felonies, epstein files, rapes, bombing of schoolchildren, gestapo ICE agents attacking his own citizens, threatening to invade Greenland, Cuba, Venezuela and Iran all didn’t convince you that you fell for this deranged grifter, maybe this lil’ post will? How can any so called Christian support him after this blasphemy? How could any Catholic support him after he attacks the character of their Pope multiple times?”
He didn’t stop there, adding, “How did so many millions of people fall for this conman? He’s already got worst President in the history of America on lock, but I’m gonna go ahead and take the honor of pronouncing trump ‘Worst American of All Time.'”
Trump responds and walks it back
Trump later addressed the backlash, claiming the image was misunderstood.
“I viewed that as a picture of me being a doctor in fixing — you had the Red Cross right there, you had, you know, medical people surrounding me. And I was like the doctor, you know, as a little fun playing the doctor and making people better. So that’s what it was viewed as. That’s what most people thought.”
He eventually removed the post, explaining, “Normally I don’t like doing that, but I didn’t want to have anybody be confused. People were confused.”
A feud that won’t die
White’s criticism isn’t new, but it’s getting louder again, after taking sporadic shots over the past year, he’s ramped things up in recent months while continuing to release new music and tour globally.
For fans watching from Australia, it’s another reminder that White hasn’t mellowed out with age. If anything, he’s sharper, louder, and still willing to torch whoever he thinks deserves it.
