Nearly four decades deep into carving up the death metal rulebook, Carcass are dragging their blood soaked legacy back to Australia and New Zealand.
UPDATE – September 3rd, 2026: Carcass have rescheduled their ‘Putrefying Down Under’ Australian and New Zealand tour to September 2027 due to a family situation involving drummer Daniel Wilding. All existing tickets remain valid for the rescheduled dates, while refunds are available from the original point of purchase for fans unable to attend.
Nearly four decades deep into carving up the death metal rulebook, Carcass are still dragging their blood-soaked legacy back to Australia and New Zealand. We’ll just have to wait a little longer to see it.
The Liverpool legends’ ‘Putrefying Down Under’ tour with Brujeria was originally scheduled for September and October 2026. Those shows will now take place across September 2027, with Carcass hitting Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Townsville and Auckland.
The postponement comes as drummer Daniel Wilding deals with a difficult family situation.

“We’re incredibly sorry to announce that we have decided to reschedule our upcoming “Putrefying Down Under” Australia / NZ tour along with our China and India dates. Our drummer Dan is facing a deeply upsetting family situation, and his priority right now is being with his family. Out of respect for everyone involved, we won’t be sharing further details, but we hope our fans will understand that this is a situation where family has to come first and he simply cannot be so far away from home for so long. We know how much people have been looking forward to these shows and rescheduling them is not a decision we have taken lightly. Thank you for your patience, understanding and, most importantly, your kindness and support at what is a very difficult time for our band and family. When the tour eventually lands, it will still bring together two bands responsible for leaving some particularly ugly fingerprints across extreme metal.
From pioneering gore-grind in the late ’80s to helping shape melodic death metal with records like ‘Heartwork’, Carcass’ influence still hangs over modern heavy music like a surgical light in a morgue.
Brujeria’s return remains its own kind of event. The masked extreme metal collective will join Carcass across the five Australian capital city dates, bringing their collision of death metal, grindcore, dark satire and theatrical violence back Down Under.
Townsville and Auckland will not feature Brujeria, but both have stacked local support packages of their own. Psycroptic and Necrophage will join Carcass in Townsville, while Just One Fix and Soul Void are confirmed for Auckland.
