A Perfect Circle have officially entered a new chapter.
The band have released “Starless”, their first new material in years, arriving just days before kicking off their first European tour in eight years and only months out from their long awaited Australian and New Zealand return alongside Puscifer.
Built around the tension and atmosphere that made the band one of alternative rock’s most distinctive acts, “Starless” moves between crushing guitar driven moments and quieter, slow burning passages without losing the precision that has defined A Perfect Circle since the beginning.
A Perfect Circle ‘Starless’
Maynard James Keenan said per (Sonic Perspectives):
“Absolutely chuffed to debut this new track on stage in the U.K. Of course I’m excited to release the recordings but our songs always take on an expanded personality once we start playing them live.”
The track was written earlier this year and recorded at Billy Howerdel’s Lankershim Ranch Studio in California, Howerdel produced the song himself, while Matty Green handled mixing duties, longtime collaborator Josh Freese also returns behind the kit.
Howerdel said:
“Some songs get kicked around and massaged for years. But once in a while, one takes shape quickly, as if it had been there all along.”
Alongside the digital release, the band have also unveiled a limited edition seven inch vinyl version of “Starless”, featuring a custom etched crescent logo and multiple colour variants aimed squarely at collectors.

A Perfect Circle Australia and New Zealand tour

The upcoming run will see A Perfect Circle and Puscifer bring Maynard James Keenan’s wider creative universe across Australia and New Zealand this December.
