Tom Morello is bringing together music, activism and community action for a brand new festival set to hit Maryland later this year.

The Rage Against The Machine guitarist has officially unveiled Power To The People, a one day event taking place October 3rd, 2026 at Merriweather Post Pavilion. The festival was first revealed while Morello was touring alongside Bruce Springsteen, with The Boss helping announce the event live onstage during a recent show at Nationals Park.

Power To The People will feature a stacked lineup spanning rock, hip-hop and alternative music, including performances from Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, Brittany Howard, Dropkick Murphys, Jack Black, Serj Tankian, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, Grandson, The Neighborhood Kids, Taylor Momsen, Matt Cameron, The Linda Lindas and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels.

Adding to the event’s crossover between music and activism, artist Shepard Fairey will also appear with artwork installations and a special DJ set.

Freedom, Justice, Equality and Rock and Roll

Speaking about the festival, Morello said:

“The Power To The People festival is about freedom, justice, equality, and rock and roll. It’s about the power that everyday human beings have when they come together through music, art, community, and action. We’re honored to bring this incredible lineup to the D.C. area for a day that celebrates the spirit of activism, creativity, and hope.”

Alongside performances across two stages, the festival will host a dedicated Freedom Village area designed to connect attendees with nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, artists and grassroots community initiatives. Organisers say the space will focus heavily on civic engagement, activism and voter participation (per Sonic Perspectives).

A portion of the festival’s proceeds, including all net proceeds from VIP ticket sales, will benefit VoteRiders and HeadCount. HeadCount will also attend the event to assist fans with voter registration and provide information about election participation.

Morello has long combined political activism with his music career, becoming one of rock’s most outspoken figures through his work with Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave and his solo project The Nightwatchman.

Pre-sale tickets for Power To The People go live Friday, May 29th at 10 a.m. ET, while general public ticket sales begin Saturday, May 30th.
