beabadoobee Shares New Single ‘Switchblade’ Ahead Of Pylon

beabadoobee has unveiled ‘Switchblade’, the latest preview of her upcoming third studio album Pylon, giving fans another glimpse into what promises to be her most emotionally expansive record yet.

The new beabadoobe single arrives ahead of Pylon, which is set for release on Friday, September 18th via Dirty Hit and Interscope Records, it follows last month’s lead single ‘Sun Has Set’ and continues the album’s exploration of uncertainty, vulnerability and personal growth.

Built around the metaphor of self-defence, ‘Switchblade’ wrestles with the difficult choices people face when confronted by conflict, asking, “self-defence is to be brave/Do you start the fight/Or take the flight?” Rather than offering easy answers, the track embraces ambiguity, reflecting where Beatrice Laus finds herself creatively and personally.

According to Laus, that uncertainty became one of the defining themes of Pylon.

“Pylon is about accepting that negative feelings are going to come back—accepting the insecurity and feeling confused. It’s all a necessary part of growing and knowing yourself better. You have to go through all that shit, I have to write about it.”

That philosophy runs throughout the album, which has been described as her most ambitious collection of songs to date. Blending moments of anger, heartbreak, joy and introspection, Pylon follows the success of 2024’s This Is How Tomorrow Moves, which reached No. 1 in the UK and debuted at No. 6 in Australia.

beabadoobee’s biggest tour yet

The Powerlines Tour begins on Thursday, October 1st and will see the singer-songwriter perform arena shows across North America, the UK and Europe, including headline performances at Madison Square Garden, The Kia Forum and London’s O2 Arena.

With ‘Sun Has Set’ and now ‘Switchblade’ setting the tone, anticipation continues to build ahead of Pylon‘s September release, if these early tracks are any indication, beabadoobee’s next chapter is shaping up to be her most honest and musically adventurous yet.
