HEAVENSGATE Announce ‘The Angel Hymns’ Australian Tour With Mélancolia

Share

Melbourne metalcore outfit HEAVENSGATE are coming home this spring, announcing ‘The Angel Hymns Australian Tour’ for October and November with Mélancolia and Irken Armada joining the run.

Presented by Destroy All Lines, Pure Noise Records and Greyscale Records, the five date tour will hit Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, giving HEAVENSGATE their own Australian stages after spending much of the year building serious momentum overseas.

It is a homecoming wedged into an increasingly hectic international schedule, HEAVENSGATE will spend September touring North America alongside 156/Silence and Aviana before returning to Australia.

Almost immediately afterwards, they head to Europe and the UK with thrown, Counterparts and No Cure throughout November and December.

Making moves

That schedule gives a pretty clear indication of where HEAVENSGATE currently sit, the Melbourne band aren’t simply flirting with international touring anymore, they’re properly embedded in it.

The announcement also follows HEAVENSGATE’s recent collaboration with We Came As Romans, appearing on a reworked version of ‘red smoke’ for the band’s upcoming All Is Beautiful…Because We’re Doomed: Circularity release.

Closer to home, HEAVENSGATE continue to ride the impact of their latest EP, A HEART IS A HEAVY BURDEN. Following 2022 debut AND ALL I LOVED, I LOVED ALONE, the record pushed their increasingly volatile take on modern metalcore into heavier and more personal territory.

Supports

Mélancolia will bring an altogether nastier edge to the tour. Since emerging in 2022, the Melbourne band have released HissThroughRottenTeeth and random.access.misery, toured internationally and shared stages with Thy Art Is Murder, Cattle Decapitation, Suffocation and plenty more.

Sydney five-piece Irken Armada will open the first four dates, bringing a sound indebted to the serrated edges of mid-2000s metalcore and bands including Underoath and Every Time I Die.

Notably, the Perth date will feature HEAVENSGATE only.
