It started with one strange Radiohead flyer in Melbourne. Less than 24 hours later, more were turning up across the city — and the QR codes point straight back to the band’s official W.A.S.T.E. network.
Something is happening with Radiohead in Australia.
On Monday, August 31, a fan posted a photo to r/radiohead showing a physical Radiohead card marked 2027, reportedly found in Melbourne. The reverse carried a QR code that sent fans to a W.A.S.T.E. sign-up page with a URL ending in 2027-1c43ive-melbourne.
That detail is difficult to dismiss. W.A.S.T.E. Headquarters is Radiohead’s official fan, mailing-list, merchandise and ticketing infrastructure. This is not a random tour-rumour account pointing at a fan-made landing page.

Then the flyers started multiplying
The first widely shared sighting was followed quickly by more. Fans reported cards at Champagne Video in Fitzroy North, Readings Carlton on Lygon Street and Dutch Vinyl in Abbotsford.
- Lygon Street, Carlton: the original poster was reportedly found outside a cafe.
- Champagne Video, Fitzroy North: another copy was reported shortly afterwards.
- Readings Carlton: a second Reddit thread showed a card sitting above the Radiohead vinyl section. The poster said staff knew nothing about it.
- Dutch Vinyl, Abbotsford: another Melbourne fan reported finding one there in the same thread.
There is also an unverified claim in the Reddit discussion that a flyer has surfaced in Fremantle via Instagram. BLUNT has not independently verified that sighting.
The story has already spilled into r/triplej, where Australian fans are now treating the Melbourne drops as the strongest sign yet that a local announcement is coming.
This is exactly how Radiohead announce things
If this campaign feels familiar, it should.
In September 2025, mysterious Radiohead flyers appeared across European cities before the band formally announced its first tour in seven years. BLUNT covered those flyers as they surfaced, with cards appearing in cities including London, Madrid, Copenhagen and Berlin before the dates were officially confirmed.
The Melbourne material also uses older Stanley Donwood-era Radiohead artwork, which has caused some confusion online. But that does not make the flyers old. Radiohead reused archival artwork across the 2025 campaign too, making the visual language consistent with the band’s current touring era rather than evidence of a recycled 2012 poster.
The 2027 breadcrumbs were already there
Back in March, guitarist Ed O’Brien said Radiohead would return to touring in 2027 and described a plan to play roughly 20 shows a year, focusing on a different continent or region each time. He specifically mentioned Asia/Oceania among the areas the band was considering.
That was enough for Rolling Stone Australia and The Music to flag a potential Australian return at the time. NME also reported O’Brien’s broader 2027 touring plan.
Then, in August, things became much less theoretical. A Radiohead teaser shown at Summer Sonic in Japan ended with the words “TOKYO 2027”. NME reported the teaser, and fans later found Tokyo flyers directing them to a W.A.S.T.E. page built around the same 2027 + city URL structure now appearing in Melbourne.
So, is a 2027 Australian Radiohead tour confirmed?
Not formally. There are still no Australian dates, venues or ticket-sale details, and Live Nation Australia currently lists no Radiohead events on sale.
But the evidence has moved well beyond a vague rumour: multiple physical drops in Melbourne, a QR code pointing to Radiohead’s official W.A.S.T.E. infrastructure, a Melbourne-specific 2027 URL, an almost identical Tokyo campaign, O’Brien’s confirmed 2027 touring plans and the band’s proven habit of announcing tours through mysterious printed material.
Radiohead have not toured Australia as a full band since 2012. If these cards are what they look like, that 14-year wait may finally be nearing its end.
