Paramore fans checking out the new animated Netflix comedy Dang! this week were surprised to see a cameo from the band’s frontwoman, Hayley Williams.
Williams appears in the show as herself, as hallicinated by the show’s lead character Eunice Dang after being hit by several cars. She plays Dang’s spiritual guide, akin to Johnny Cash’s coyote in The Simpsons, and directly references Paramore as the reason she is appearing to her in a vision.
“Remember that summer you worked at CVS?” says Williams. “‘Ain’t It Fun’ played every hour in your store. My song got so stuck in your head, it’s now your most intrinsic memory.”
Williams shared the news of her cameo over on her Substack, quipping: “Made out with [Eunice’s voice actor] Poppy Liu in this show. Finally.” She thanked the show’s creator, Andrew Law, for enlisting her in the role. “This show is so cool and funny,” she wrote. “Everybody go watch it.”

The appearance on Dang! is part of another busy year for the Tennessee singer-songwriter, who released her third solo album Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party last year. In January, Williams announced the formation of a new band entitled Power Snatch, alongside producer and collaborator Daniel James. Their debut EP, EP1, was surprise-released that same day.
From March to the end of June, Williams undertook her debut solo headlining tour of North America, dubbed Hayley Williams at a Bachelorette Party. In August, Power Snatch released their second EP, the fittingly-titled EP2.
Last week, Williams undertook her second solo headlining tour, The Hayley Williams Show. The tour is slated to run through until July 2027, and includes shows in the US, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Italy, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England. Australian dates have not yet been announced, although Williams has expressed interest in returning to Australia in an interview with triple j last year.
