Wednesday 13 Says John 5 Collaboration ‘Instantly Clicked’

Wednesday 13 has opened up about his upcoming run fronting John 5 & The Creatures, revealing the unlikely pairing only needed one rehearsal to know they had something.

Wednesday 13 and John 5 are still figuring out exactly what their 2027 collaboration will become, but apparently the chemistry wasn’t difficult to find (per Blabbermouth).

The Murderdolls vocalist will join John 5 & The Creatures for their US summer and autumn 2027 touring plans, marking the first time the guitarist’s solo band has featured a dedicated singer.

Speaking on The David Ellefson Show, Wednesday revealed the idea initially came through their shared booking agent, Dan DeVita.

The pair then got together for a rehearsal, running through material from John 5’s history with Mötley Crüe, Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie.

An instant connection

“So, we got together and we jammed a few MÖTLEY songs and Manson and Zombie, and it just instantly clicked,” Wednesday said.

Despite already locking in appearances at Germany’s Wacken Open Air and Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic, Wednesday said the project remains in its formative stages.

“So literally it’s still in the early stages. I don’t know what we’re doing exactly yet. I got a vague idea of it, but we got time to put it together.”

He did, however, reveal that considerably more touring is being planned, saying there is “a whole month of dates” lined up in Europe.

The eventual set is expected to pull heavily from John 5’s career, including songs connected to Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Mötley Crüe and David Lee Roth alongside his solo material.

For Wednesday, whose own career has intersected with that world repeatedly, stepping into the vocalist position makes considerable sense.

The pair have known each other for years and previously toured together, while Wednesday has cited many of John 5’s former bands among his own influences.

“I’m so excited,” he said of what they’re building. “But, yeah, we’re gonna piece it together, and I think it’s gonna be something fun for the fans.”

John 5 & The Creatures featuring Wednesday 13 will make their first announced 2027 appearance at Wacken Open Air, which runs from July 28th to 31st.
