KISS have released the trailer for a new documentary about their farewell tour, including a moment when Gene Simmons played seated during a show in Brazil.
The bassist was suffering from dehydration. It’s one of the less glamorous moments captured in KISS: End of the Road, which premieres online on Thursday, November 19th (US time). The trailer cuts between the band’s familiar stage spectacle and moments when the tour didn’t go to plan.
The End of the Road tour began in January 2019 and finally wrapped up at Madison Square Garden in New York on December 2nd, 2023. COVID delays stretched the farewell across almost five years and around 250 shows.
KISS had been talking about the end of touring for years, and Simmons is adamant in the trailer that they weren’t going to keep going indefinitely.
There are plenty of bands out there who have stayed on stage too long, that’s not going to happen to us.
Paul Stanley also talks about wanting to get back on stage and make the final run count. The film follows the band through the shows and the setbacks, rather than concentrating only on the Madison Square Garden finale.

Directed by DJ Viola and produced by Leslie Greif, the film also looks at what comes after the farewell tour, including KISS‘s plans for a digital avatar production.
There will be an early screening for fans attending KISS Kruise: Land-Locked in Vegas, which runs from November 13 to 15. The event also includes appearances and performances by KISS members without their trademark makeup.
For everyone else, the documentary premieres through KISS’s website on November 19. Online access starts at US$14.99 (approximately A$21.25), with regional pricing available, and purchasers will have seven days to watch it. Further platforms are expected to be announced.
Tickets and details are available at the official documentary website.
