Killswitch Engage, the three-time Grammy-nominated metal giants, are gearing up to release their new album, This Consequence, on February 21, 2025, via Metal Blade Records. The album arrives after five years of personal and global challenges, offering a powerful blend of heavy riffs, emotional lyrics, and a deep sense of reflection.

To kick off the album, the band has released the video for the lead single, Forever Aligned. The track, upon first listening, delivers a rhythmic punch with its aggressive sound and raw lyrics. According to frontman Jesse Leach, it’s more than just a love song: “It’s about connection. Not just between us as humans, but to the universe, to the unknown, to God.” He continues, “The world needs more of that connectivity, and this song feels like the perfect opener.”

Leach explains that This Consequence is a culmination of everything the band has experienced thus far. “It’s about all of our stories—both as a band and as a society. It’s also about my own personal journey,” he says. “Sonically, it’s the most collaborative record we’ve made. It feels more like a team effort than the last few albums.”

The album will also include tracks like Abandon Us, Discordant Nation, and Requiem. Here, fans can expect the familiar Killswitch sound—brutal riffs, soaring melodies, and lyrics that speak to the struggles and triumphs of everyday life.

This Consequence will be available in multiple formats: CD, vinyl, and digital. The CD will come in a sleek 8-panel digipak with a 20-page booklet, while the vinyl will feature a gatefold jacket and an 8-page booklet. The album is available for pre-order now from here.

The news of the albums release comes after the American rockers previously toured across Australia with metal legends, Iron Maiden. Should they release any more Australian dates, you will be the first to know. In the meantime, check out the video for Forever Aligned and pre-order This Consequence now.
