Short Stack Announce 15th Anniversary ‘Stack Is The New Black’ National Tour

Share

Aussie punk icons Short Stack are gearing up to celebrate 15 years of their groundbreaking debut album, Stack Is The New Black, with a massive national tour in June 2025. The album, which went viral upon its release in 2009, marked the beginning of the band’s meteoric rise. Featuring singles like Sway Sway Baby!, Shimmy A Go Go, and Princess, the record earned Gold certification and solidified Short Stack as one of the key players in the Australian punk scene.

To mark this milestone, Short Stack will hit the road for a run of shows that proves pop-punk and emo was never just a phase. The Stack Is The New Black 15th anniversary tour kicks off at Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Friday, June 6, 2025, before heading to Sydney’s Liberty Hall (Saturday, June 7), Adelaide’s The Gov (Friday, June 13), Melbourne’s Forum (Saturday, June 14), and wrapping up at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Friday, June 20.

The band is promising to give fans a full dose of nostalgia, while also showing their detractors that punk still has staying power. Last year, Stack Is The New Black was pressed to vinyl for the first time, following the band’s decision to buy back the rights to the album (and its 2010 follow-up, This Is Bat Country).

Pre-sale tickets for the tour go live on Tuesday, 12 November at 10am local time via Spotify, followed by an early bird pre-sale on Wednesday, 13 November at 10am. You can register for these tickets here. General tickets will be available from Friday, 15 November at 10am local time via Destroy All Lines.

Short Stack are about to prove that their infectious blend of pop-punk and emo is far from fading into memory. Get ready to relive the early 2000s with one of Australia’s most beloved bands. This will be a tour you don’t want to miss.
