Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden and Richie Kotzen of The Winery Dogs are back with their second album, Black Light / White Noise. The album, which drops on March 7 2024, via BMG comes after the release of record, Smith/Kotzen.
Smith/ Kotzen recorded the album at The House in Los Angeles. They produced it themselves, with Jay Ruston mixing. The result is an album that highlights their talents as musicians and vocalists. The song White Noise reflects on the overwhelming power of social media. Smith explains, “It’s about how we get bombarded with it 24/7.” Kotzen adds, “Adrian’s riff inspired the melody, and the chorus came together quickly.”
White Noise also delivers heavy riffs, soaring vocals, and an irresistible chorus. The video for White Noise features a seamless performance, showcasing the strong musical bond between Smith and Kotzen.
Black Light / White Noise also pulls influences from many rock greats like Thin Lizzy, Jimi Hendrix, and Cream. Despite this, the album has its own distinct sound. Despite their many years in the industry, Smith and Kotzen prove they’re still at the top of their game, pushing boundaries and creating something fresh.
