Converge Festival is the newest alternative day fest heading to Melbourne and Brisbane this September, and it looks like we’ll be getting more info this week.
If you’re in Melbourne or Brisbane, a new alternative day festival is heading your way this September – Converge Festival.
The festival appeared seemingly out of nowhere on social media over the weekend, with the official site promising “a new cultural experience for heavy music fans, combining live music & alternative culture for an immersive experience.”
Converge Festival is said to fill “a gap in the market by providing an affordable and exciting mini festival featuring local talent alongside installations from fashion brands, DJ’s & tattoo artists.”
Converge Festival 2025 Dates
Based on the event listings, tickets are set to go on sale Wednesday June 25th at 10am.
- Sunday, September 7: The Brightside, Brisbane (Meanjin)
- Sunday, September 14: Max Watt’s House Of Music, Melbourne (Naarm)
While we’re pretty light on details beyond the dates right now, the organisers spoke to Wall of Sound to give some more clues about what punters can expect.
“We are going old school with this. Massive festivals are awesome, but what happened to localised events with a bunch of fun activities to go along with the best alternative music around?” the organisers said.
While the team are understandably keeping mum about many of the details until an official announcement is made, they did hint that triple j “may or may not” have something to say about Converge Festival on Tuesday – so it’s likely we’ll know more tomorrow on what’s coming to shake up Melbourne and Brisbane’s festival circuits.
Wall of Sound was also privy to some cryptic clues about the line-up:
“Three voices in the hush before the storm,
One roars and shows beauty like a newborn .
Another bleeds beauty from wounds that still shine,
A third sees the dusk in the break of the line.”Described as “more than just a music event” and a means of bringing the community together, eyes are on Converge Festival as we wait for more info.
We’ll be keeping you updated as announcements drop, so stay tuned, and get keen for September.
