Hey, Sam Raimi’s got a new movie coming out! What more do you need to know?
Well, maybe a little bit more. The mighty Sam Raimi, he of Evil Dead and Spider-Man legend, is back behind the camera for Send Help, his first non-Marvel gig since 2013’s Oz The Great And Powerful. Judging from the trailer, he’s in gonzo Tales From The Crypt mode once again, offering up a dark and gruesome morality play. The clip specifically namechecks Drag Me To Hell, a deliciously sadistic and underappreciated gem from Mrs. Raimi’s favourite son, so if that one worked for you, Send Help should be an unhinged delight.

What’s the plot?
Rachel McAdams is a dowdy, put-upon assistant (look, just go with it…) working for Dylan O’Brien’s complete asshole of a high-flying exec, only to get the upper hand when his private jet crashes and the two are (seemingly?) the only survivors. With his leg injured and her discovering a heretofore unrealised knack for wilderness survival, it’s fun to see the tables turned at first. But it looks like our sympathies will be tested* when things all go a bit Annie Wilkes.
Who’s in it?
Rachel McAdams is Linda Liddle, Dylan O’Brien is Bradley Preston, and Edyll Ismail, Dennis Haysbert, Xavier Samuel, Chris Pang,Thaneth Warakulnukroh, and Emma Raimi are also turning up, presumably briefly.
When’s it out?
Send Help is in cinemas from January 12 2026.
What’s the vibe?
Putting aside the fact that you should show up for a new Sam Raimi film just as a matter of general principle, this looks like a fun. It’s a little bit Misery, a bit Hell In The Pacific, a bit Triangle Of Sadness – but it’s Raimi, so it’s likely to be weirder and bloodier than all of them put together.
