Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion shook to its core on Thursday as Bullet For My Valentine brought The Poison Anniversary Tour to the stage. We were there to capture it.

Bullet For My Valentine brought the heat to Sydney (like it needed any more of that) for a night that reminded everyone why they remain one of the defining forces in modern metal. The Welsh heavyweights were joined by While She Sleeps and The Devil Wears Prada for a powerhouse triple bill that delivered pure, unrelenting energy from the first note to the final encore.

By the time the lights dropped, the anticipation was at fever pitch. Fans packed shoulder to shoulder erupted as Bullet For My Valentine launched into their set with pinpoint precision and signature aggression. Marking the 20th anniversary of their landmark debut The Poison, the band tore through a career-spanning set filled with fan favourites and deep cuts alike, blending nostalgia with the fury of a group still at the top of their game.

Frontman Matt Tuck commanded the stage with an effortless authority, his vocals cutting clean through the chaos as riffs roared from every corner. Bullet For My Valentine’s chemistry was undeniable, every breakdown landing like a punch and every solo electrifying the crowd. The energy never dipped, and the audience matched it beat for beat, singing, moshing, and throwing horns high for every anthem.

While She Sleeps brought a storm of their own earlier in the night, their DIY ethos and genre-bending sound igniting the crowd in a frenzy of movement. The Devil Wears Prada followed suit with their trademark mix of melody and muscle, setting the stage perfectly for what would become an unforgettable main event.

From the pyrotechnics and lighting to the raw, emotional delivery, Bullet For My Valentine created nothing short of magic onstage. Twenty years since The Poison first set the metal world ablaze, the band proved they’ve only sharpened their edge, and Sydney was there to witness it in all its fury.
