Hayley Williams Announces Australian ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’ Listening Events

Share

Hayley Williams has announced exclusive ‘Ego Nite’ album listening parties in Melbourne and Sydney ahead of the album’s official release.

Hayley Williams is giving fans in Australia an early chance to hear her new solo record Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party through a series of global listening parties set for early November.

The events, dubbed ‘Ego Nite’, put a twist on traditional “Emo Nite” gatherings and will take place on Wednesday, November 5. Fans attending the Australian sessions will be able to hear the full album, including previously unreleased tracks, and take home exclusive Ego Nite merch such as posters, tote bags, and wristbands.

Attendees will also be able to enter a competition to win a CD copy of the album signed by Hayley Williams and purchase physical editions of the record ahead of its physical release on Friday, November 7.

In Australia, Ego Nite will be held at Happy Valley Shop in Melbourne and HUM Records in Sydney. Across the Tasman, New Zealand events will take place at Southbound in Auckland, Pennylane in Christchurch, Relics in Dunedin, and Slowboat in Wellington.

The album rollout continues Williams’ community-focused approach to releasing music. In August, she shared 17 unsequenced singles through her Good Dye Young website, encouraging fans to download, share, and arrange the songs in their own preferred order. That experiment led to the fan-made site hayleysingles.com, where thousands shared their tracklists. Williams later formalised the material, adding an unreleased song titled ‘Parachute’, and packaged it as Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party.

The album was produced by Daniel James with additional production from Jim-E Stack and contributions from longtime Paramore collaborators Brian Robert Jones and Joey Howard. Hayley Williams played and recorded many of the instruments herself.

Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party is Hayley Williams’ first release under her own imprint, Post Atlantic, distributed by Secretly Distribution. It follows Paramore’s move to independence after their sixth album This Is Why. The record marks her third solo release, following 2020’s Petals For Armor and 2021’s Flowers For Vases.

Williams has described this new phase of her career as a creative rebirth after completing a decades-long contract with Atlantic Records, signed when she was a teenager. For fans, Ego Nite will offer a first chance to experience what that newfound freedom sounds like in full.
