Street Fighter Teaser: Here’s Our First Look At The Star-Studded Beat ‘Em Up

Share

Street Fighter only wrapped shooting in Australia a few weeks ago, but the first teaser has arrived courtesy of the Game Awards.

It’s only fitting that our first look at the upcoming big screen adaptation of Street Fighter would debut at the Game Awards. The source material is one of the most popular fighting game franchises in history, after all. Cast members including Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, and mirthful giant Jason Momoa took to the stage to intro the annoyingly brief advance look at the new flick, which we’ve helpfully embedded below.

Street Fighter Game Awards Sneak Peek

What’s the plot?

As the refreshingly helpful official synopsis tells us:

Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!

Who’s in it?

If I have to do character descriptions, we’ll be here all night so, assuming you’re across the general lore behind the perennial punch up that is Street Fighter, you can look forward to seeing:

  • Noah Centineo as Ken Masters.
  • Andrew Koji as Ryu.
  • Callina Liang as Chun-Li.
  • Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma.
  • David Dastmalchian as M. Bison.
  • Cody Rhodes as Guile.
  • Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki.
  • Eric André as Don Sauvage.
  • Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim.
  • Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog.
  • Jason Momoa as Blanka – bumper day for the big lad, given the Supergirl trailer also dropped.
  • Olivier Richters as Zangief.
  • Orville Peck as Vega.
  • Hirooki Goto as E. Honda.
  • Mel Jarnson as Cammy.
  • Rayna Vallandingham as Juli.
  • Alexander Volkanovski as Joe.
  • Kyle Mooney as Marvin.

When’s it out?

Battle begins when Street Fighter hits – and probably kicks – cinemas on October 15, 2026.

What’s the vibe?

Everyone involved seems to understand that fun is the object of the exercise, so that bodes well. On a weird note, I just found out that director Kitao Sakurai played one of the little hockey demons in Kevin Smith‘s Dogma. Good for him.
