Ghost Accused Of ‘Super Satanic’ Curse After NBA Loss, Because Of Course They Were

Share

Ghost have been blamed for many things over the years, but cursing an NBA team might be a new one.

Earlier this month, a now deleted Reddit post (as per Loudwire) from an alleged employee at Orlando’s Kia Center went semi-viral after claiming the band’s recent show left behind what they described as “super satanic vibes,” supposedly responsible for the Orlando Magic’s home loss to the Charlotte Hornets on January 22nd.

The post, captured before deletion and later reshared by The Noise, appeared shortly after the Magic were blown out on their home court, frustrated with the performance, the venue employee floated a theory that Ghost’s concert earlier in the week had somehow tainted the building.

“So I work at Kia. The night before we got blown out by Charlotte there was a concert there by this rock band called Ghost & I’m not even exaggerating super satanic vibes,” the post read.

They went on to describe “Devil imagery, stained-glass church setup, chanting ‘Lucifer,’ all types of weird shit I’m not into at all,” adding, “I was mad as hell I was forced to sit through that lol.”

The employee then doubled down, suggesting the energy carried over into game night.

“So my theory is that whatever energy they left in the building carried over into the game because there’s no other explanation for how bad we looked. Is this a valid excuse or are we just inconsistent af?”

Whether cursed or just inconsistent, the Magic didn’t rebound, they followed up with another home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on January 24th, then dropped a road game in Cleveland two days later, leaving them sitting eighth in the Eastern Conference with a 23–22 record.

Skeletour rolls on

Meanwhile, Ghost remain very much undefeated in the public imagination, the band continue selling out shows, drawing massive crowds, and apparently terrifying venue staff along the way.

Interestingly, all this chaos arrives as Tobias Forge has openly admitted Ghost have no immediate plans for new material.

Speaking recently, Forge said, “As of right now, there is no EP coming,” adding that while he’s recording, “it’s not a covers EP and it’s not a new Ghost record.”

Curses aside, Ghost are taking a breath creatively and as a Detroit Pistons fan, lets hope they don’t perform in the Motor City any time soon (jokes, of course).
