A photo from NAMM 2026 has Korn fans reading between the lines. Estranged bassist Reginald ‘Fieldy’ Arvizu was spotted alongside drummer Ray Luzier at the Anaheim trade show, and naturally, reunion whispers have started up again.
The image itself is simple, Fieldy and Luzier standing side by side in a group shot, there’s nothing dramatic or over the top about it, but for a band where communication has reportedly been scarce, even that is enough to spark conversation.
Back in 2021, Fieldy stepped away from Korn, citing the need to address ‘bad habits’ (per Metal Sucks), at the time, he clarified that his departure was not drug related, though he kept further details private. In later interviews, he admitted he had not spoken with the band since 2019.
That distance has lingered, since his exit, Korn have continued touring and recording with Ra Díaz of Suicidal Tendencies filling in on bass duties, Díaz has been a steady presence, locking into the groove-heavy backbone that defines Korn’s live sound.

Is The Door Still Open?
Despite years offstage, Fieldy remains listed as a member of Korn, the band have never formally announced a permanent replacement, that alone keeps speculation alive.
Korn’s low end identity is inseparable from Fieldy’s percussive, clacking bass tone, it shaped the blueprint of nu metal in the late 1990s and became part of the band’s DNA. A return would not just be nostalgic, it would shift the chemistry.
People shouldn’t get too carried away, a single photo at NAMM does not confirm reconciliation, these trade shows are crowded spaces, musicians cross paths and old colleagues talk.
For now it’s just an image, but in a fanbase that has watched lineup changes and long silences before, even a quiet moment like this carries weight.
Whether it signals healing or simply courtesy remains to be seen, watch this space.
