Check Out Ready Or Not 2’s Eight Minute Teaser

Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come sees Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton battle another coterie of evil nepo babies.

2019 was a long time ago, and as soul-crushingly painful as that phrase was to write, it has the terrible weight of truth. But it’s when the fun, class conscious comedy-horror Ready Or Not was released theatrically, so perhaps that’s why the good folks at Searchlight Pictures have seen fit to drop this fun eight minute scene on us aa couple weeks out from release – just to refresh our memories. In it, you’ll see a bloodied and bedraggled Grace MacCaulley (Samara Weaving), having survived the events of the first picture, have a brief D&M with her estranged sister, Faith (Kathryn Newton), before yet another bloodthirsty blueblood tries to send them to hell. Check it out:

What’s the plot?

As the official synopsis helpfully tells us:

Grace MacCaullay, the sole survivor of a brutal “game” that resulted in the deaths of her husband and in-laws, learns that her victory comes with a price: now, the wealthiest and most influential families on Earth have to kill her in a new game – or risk losing their power and fortunes. Grace refuses to participate but is left with no choice when she learns that her younger sister has also been marked for death and must protect her at all costs.

Who’s in it?

  • Samara Weaving as Grace MacCaullay, our hardscrabble heroine.
  • Kathryn Newton as Faith MacCaullay, Grace’s younger sister, and probably just as hardscrabble, given the whole foster care thing.
  • Sarah Michelle Gellar as Ursula Danforth, and it’s great to see SMG getting back into her horror roots with this and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
  • Shawn Hatosy as Titus Danforth.
  • David Cronenberg as Mr. Danforth, the evil family patriarch, which is a bit on the nose but hey – David Cronenberg!
  • Elijah Wood as The Lawyer.
  • Néstor Carbonell as Ignacio.

Plus Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, Varun Saranga, Nadeem Umar-Khitab, Juan Pablo Romero, Masa Lizdek, Daniel Beirne, and Antony Hall in various roles.

When’s it out?

Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come hits Australian cinemas on April 9, 2026.

What’s the vibe?

Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, AKA Radio Silence, have carved out a cool little niche for themselves in the horror genre – between Ready Or Not, the last couple of Scream flicks, and the fun and frenetic Abigail, they’ve proved they’ve got not just the technical chops, but a definite authorial voice to boot. This could be just a case of moar = better, but watching Australia’s own scream queen slaughter an even bigger bunch of bastards than the first flick strikes me as a fine evening’s entertainment.
