Mortiis is heading back to Australia, but this time he’s not coming alone, the lineup he’s bringing is built for the shadows.
Hardline Media have announced the ‘Southern Ritual Tour’ for November 2026, featuring a rare dual headline run with Norway’s Mortiis and Siberia’s Nytt Land, plus support from Türkiye’s TiR, this isn’t your standard metal tour.
It’s something slower, colder, and a whole lot more atmospheric.

Mortiis brings the full force
For longtime fans, this run hits different, Mortiis will be touring Australia with a full band for the first time, diving into material from ‘The Smell Of Rain’ alongside his darker, dystopian catalogue.
It’s a big shift from the one man sets Aussie crowds have seen before, more layered, more immersive, and likely a lot heavier in execution.
Given his roots in Emperor, and decades shaping the dungeon synth space, Mortiis has always sat slightly outside the mainstream, this tour leans into that fully.
Nytt Land finally land in Australia
Joining him are Nytt Land, making their first ever Australian appearance, of you’ve spent time with bands like Wardruna or Danheim, you’ll know the territory, Nytt Land take it further. Throat singing, traditional instruments, Old Norse lyrics, and a sound that feels less like a gig and more like stepping into something ancient.
They’ll be performing material from ‘Aba Kahn’ and their evolving ‘Siberian Era’ work, building something that sits somewhere between ritual and performance.
TiR rounds out the ritual
Opening the night is TiR, the project of composer Oytun Bektas, expect cinematic dungeon synth and folk textures, pulling from the same well of history and atmosphere as the headliners.
It’s a lineup that feels curated, not stacked, everything here fits the same bleak, immersive world. This isn’t a night for casual punters, it’s built for fans who want something darker, slower, and more immersive than the usual circuit.
Mortiis bringing a full band alone makes this worth showing up for, add Nytt Land’s debut and TiR’s atmosphere, and you’re looking at one of the more unique tours hitting Australia this year.
