Bullet For My Valentine Are Already Preparing To Dominate 2027

Bullet For My Valentine might still be riding the aftershock of their self titled 2021 album, but behind the scenes the Welsh metalcore veterans are already deep into the next phase of the machine.

According to drummer Jason Bowld, the band’s eighth studio album is currently on track for a January 2027 release, with drum tracking officially wrapped as of April, speaking with Drum Dog, Bowld revealed the record itself should be completed by June before the band shifts focus toward the carefully calculated rollout modern heavy music campaigns seem permanently locked into.

“I’ve just finished recording drums for it,” Bowld explained.

“And it’s gonna be finished probably by June. And then we’re looking to release it in January [of 2027].”

While Bullet’s early years were built on riffs and pure emotional volatility, the reality of being a legacy metalcore act in 2026 sounds considerably more strategic, Bowld openly acknowledged the long promotional cycle attached to major album releases now, hinting at multiple singles arriving before the full record finally lands (per The PRP).

“We need to time it right and build up promo and have five singles, maybe, before it comes out — one every month — and build it up.”

“‘Cause once the machine starts, that’s it for 14, 18 months. We’re off then. And it has to be set up right.”

Album cycles for modern heavy bands have become endurance sports, once touring, press, festival appearances and single releases begin stacking up, bands can disappear into the grind for well over a year at a time.

What direction?

What remains unclear for now is exactly where Bullet For My Valentine plan to head sonically, their 2021 self titled release saw the band lean back into a heavier, more aggressive direction after years of experimenting with arena rock polish and broader melodic territory.

Tracks like ‘Knives’ and ‘Parasite’ felt deliberately nastier, reconnecting with the metallic edge that first made the band explode during the mid-2000s metalcore boom, if the next album continues down that road, there’s a good chance Bullet could be gearing up for their heaviest era in years.

Either way, it sounds like 2027 already belongs to breakdowns, double kicks and whatever massive touring cycle Bullet are about to unleash next.
