Weezer Announce 2027 Australian Tour With Third Eye Blind and Fountains of Wayne

Share

Weezer are heading back to Australia and New Zealand next year, bringing Third Eye Blind and Fountains of Wayne along for six arena shows in February and March.

The newly announced Weezer: The Gathering tour kicks off in Perth on February 24th before heading to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, with a final show in Auckland on March 7th.

While Weezer were only here last December for Good Things Festival, the upcoming run will mark their first full Australian headline tour in 14 years.

The Supporting Lineup Is Legit

Third Eye Blind haven’t performed in Australia since 2011, when they appeared at Soundwave Festival. The San Francisco alternative rock favourites, responsible for ‘Semi-Charmed Life’, ‘Jumper’ and ‘How’s It Going To Be’, will also make their New Zealand debut.

Fountains of Wayne‘s return has been an even longer time coming.

The power pop outfit last played Australia in 1999, four years before ‘Stacy’s Mom’ became the song that introduced them to a much wider audience.

There’s also some history between Fountains of Wayne and Weezer.

When Fountains of Wayne returned to the stage in May 2025 for their first full performance in 12 years, they opened for Weezer in Boca Raton, Florida.

It was their first proper concert since the passing of founding member Adam Schlesinger in 2020, with Eve 6’s Max Collins stepping in on bass.

Now they’re heading back to Australia for the first time in 28 years, while also making their first New Zealand appearance.

Weezer, meanwhile, arrive following the release of their latest self titled album, commonly known as the Gold Album, which landed in August.

The record features ‘We Might as Well Be Strangers’, a collaboration with Wednesday’s Karly Hartzman, alongside singles ‘Shine Again’ and ‘C.E.O.’.

With a catalogue already packed with songs like ‘Buddy Holly’, ‘Say It Ain’t So’, ‘Hash Pipe’ and ‘Island In The Sun’, Weezer have plenty to draw from when they return.

And with Third Eye Blind and Fountains of Wayne sharing the bill, fans are getting three bands whose songs helped soundtrack very different corners of the 90s and early 2000s.
