Eclipse Cancel Australian Tour Days Before Kickoff

Share

Swedish hard rock outfit Eclipse have cancelled their Australian tour just days before it was set to begin, pulling the plug over what they say are unmet conditions behind the scenes.

The Stockholm band were scheduled to hit Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney this week, but confirmed the entire run is now off in a statement that stops short of pointing fingers, while still making it clear something broke down late.

“Despite staying positive and hopeful throughout, we’ve reached a point where agreed terms and conditions have not been met, and unfortunately this leaves us with no choice but to cancel,” the band wrote.

“That’s what hurts the most”

For fans who had already locked in tickets, travel, and time off, the cancellation lands hard, Eclipse acknowledged that directly, making it clear this wasn’t a casual decision.

“We are deeply disappointed especially knowing that many of you spent your hard-earned money to come see us. That’s what hurts the most.

“Please know this decision was not taken lightly. We did everything we could right up until the last minute, to make this tour happen. We were packed, ready, and truly excited to come and play for you.”

It’s the kind of language you see when a tour collapses close to the starting line, bags packed, gear ready, then suddenly nothing.

Promoter responds

Promoter Silverback Touring also issued a statement following the announcement, echoing the disappointment and confirming refunds are on the way (per Tone Deaf).

“We did everything we could to make this tour happen and we are heartbroken it has not,” the promoter said. “We apologise sincerely to everyone who bought tickets. Keep an eye out emails for ticket refunds.

“We would like to thank the band for being great to deal with and we are hopeful of making this happen at another time.”

What actually happened?

Right now, details are thin, “Terms and conditions” can cover anything from financial disputes to logistical breakdowns, and neither side has gone deeper than that. What’s clear is timing, cancelling this close to show dates usually means something significant fell apart late in the process.

For Australian fans, it’s another reminder that international tours are still fragile, even when they look locked in, whether Eclipse reschedule remains to be seen, but for now, this one’s dead before it even hit the stage.
